Even though we used celebrating the family's March birthdays as the excuse to get Tin to her party the night before, we really did want to celebrate the three birthdays in the family - Nate, Tin and Connor. We all gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner, presents, and cake. All three birthday "kids" received a special card from Kenner.
Although Connor has a pluthora of swords, he asked for another one "with a point on the end." At first he was a bit surprised when he opened one of his presents from Grandma and Grandpa, but once he realized what it was after adding some air, he thought it was pretty funny and promptly killed some monsters with it.
Tin and Matt gave Connor an Optimus Prime Transformer. The box says it's for ages 5+. Daddy tried to transform the darn thing for an hour with the step-by-step instructions and still couldn't figure it out. Connor also got to open one of his presents from us tonight. (We're saving the rest for his actual birthday.) He was pretty excited when he opened it and saw the Nerf gun. Yet when Daddy put batteries in it so he could shoot-em-up, it turned out to be a dud.
We were going to make a cake for the birthday kids, but why bother with so much left over from the party last night? Connor specifically asked for the piece in the middle - he wanted to eat Tin's head. Nate wasn't feeling too well, so Connor and Tin took care of blowing out all the candles.
Since Laura is heading home tomorrow, and I neglected to get a picture of her at the party last night, we took the opportunity tonight. We're so glad she was able to come out and spend time with us this weekend!
